Program Overview
This initiative offers young individuals aged 14 to 18 the opportunity to study for 3 months to 1 year at a French secondary school (collège or lycée). Participants immerse themselves in French culture, enhance their language proficiency, and gain valuable international academic experience.
Program Structure
Students fully integrate into school life, attending classes and participating in all academic activities. Upon completion, they may request formal validation of their academic period abroad through their home country’s educational authorities.
Accommodation Options
Students live with a carefully selected host family, supervised by local coordinators. Host families provide:
- A private or shared room (with a student of the same gender).
- Three daily meals.
- Integration into family routines and cultural activities.
Alternative option: Boarding school placement (see Programs 4 and 5 below).
Cultural and Personal Development
This program fosters independence, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication skills. By engaging with peers of diverse nationalities, students develop maturity and linguistic confidence—key assets for future academic and professional endeavors.
Host Family Profile
Host families are culturally curious, enthusiastic about sharing French traditions, and committed to providing a welcoming environment. Participants become integral family members and are expected to:
- Adhere to household rules.
- Participate in family activities.
- Maintain regular school attendance.
All families are vetted and supported by local coordinators. Placements may occur anywhere in France, and participants must accept the assigned location.
Academic Integration
Students attend French public or private institutions, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00/6:00 PM, five days a week. The curriculum includes:
- Core subjects: French literature, mathematics, sciences, history, and foreign languages.
- Specialized tracks for students aged 16–17: literature, economics, or sciences.
Grade placement is determined by the school administration, though efforts are made to align with the student’s current academic level.
